About The Event
I’m thrilled to share something incredibly close to my heart: I am one of twenty women co-authoring an anthology titled Deserts to Mountaintops: Out of the Ashes with Jessica Buchanan. My chapter, “Carrying Vincent – A Love that Death Cannot Take,” shares my journey through surviving the suicide death of my beloved son Vincent—something most people cannot imagine or comprehend. The truth is, there were many moments when I wasn’t sure I would survive it either. My chapter is about finding my way out of the burning ashes of grief and self-destruction and slowly climbing toward the mountaintops of hope, joy, and happiness.
In case you’re not familiar with Jess, she was an aid worker in Somalia and, while on a humanitarian mission in 2011, she was captured by Somali pirates and held in captivity for 93 days. Under the direction of President Obama, she was rescued by SEAL Team Six and returned safely…
